A Glance (Egy Pillantás)

A Reflection on my First Solo Art Exhibition

It is rather surreal to envision what has materialized before me. My childhood dreams simply became a reality through both the efforts of my faith, hard work, and support system. As a child, I had an insatiable affinity to the artistic realm. I dreamt of one day becoming an artist, yet these dreams began to come blurry and faded as those around me reiterated that the life of an artist is not a burden worth bearing. My attraction to art led me to the world of physics and mathematics, where I craved to quench a longing desire for the abstract. After working in the field as an engineer, I came to the realization that my desire for creativity could not be quenched through the mundane routine of an office job. Rather, I desired more.

Almost two years ago now, with the support and encouragement of my family, I took a leap of faith that led me to rekindling my roots in Budapest, Hungary, while pursuing a career in art. In the beginning, I had no idea where this would lead me. I had a dream, yet I was far from making it into a tangible reality. After two years of perseverance, I can gratefully say that I have produced my first solo exhibition in Budapest, Hungary.

In partnership with Ulysses Hungarian Language School in Budapest, I was able to display my first set of plein air works at my exhibition entitled, Egy Pillantás (A Glance). The concept behind this exhibition was to display the beginning phases of my artistic imagination. All the pieces that I create contain a unique story of creation. My plein air pieces allow me to accurately document the feeling of an environment that is expressed within a moment of time.

Providing this glimpse into my realm was a vulnerable and humbling experience. For the first time since I started on this journey, I had the opportunity to take a step back and heed the impressions of an audience. Overall, I am very satisfied with the results of this exhibition. I am thankful for all that attended and continue to support me on this journey. Without a solid support system, these achievements would be unattainable.
